Please read these Terms of Service carefully before purchasing or using any NavioDocs templates. By completing a purchase, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, do not proceed with your purchase.

1. About NavioDocs

NavioDocs provides professional maritime documentation templates for superyachts and commercial vessels. Our templates are created by experienced maritime professionals to assist vessel owners, managers, and crew with regulatory compliance. For questions, contact us at hello@superyachtdocs.com.

2. Digital Product Sales

2.1 Nature of Products

All products sold by NavioDocs are digital downloads — editable document templates in Word (.docx) and/or Excel (.xlsx) format. No physical goods are shipped. Your download link will be delivered to the email address you provide at checkout immediately upon successful payment.

2.2 Refund Policy

No Refunds After Download

Due to the digital nature of our products, all sales are final once the download link has been accessed or the files downloaded. By completing your purchase, you acknowledge and agree to this policy in accordance with your statutory rights under applicable consumer law.

If you experience a technical issue preventing download, please contact us within 14 days of purchase at hello@superyachtdocs.com and we will resolve the issue promptly.

We offer a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. If you are genuinely dissatisfied with the quality of a template and have not yet customised it for vessel-specific use, please contact us and we will work to resolve your concerns or provide a refund at our discretion.

3. Licence Grant

3.1 What You Are Licensed to Do

Upon purchase, NavioDocs grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to:

  • Use and edit the template for one (1) vessel only
  • Customise the template with your vessel's specific details, procedures, and requirements
  • Submit the completed and customised document to flag state authorities, port state control, or classification societies as your vessel's own documentation
  • Share completed, vessel-specific documentation with crew members for operational use

3.2 Single Vessel Licence

Each purchase grants a licence for use on a single vessel only. If you manage or operate multiple vessels, a separate purchase is required for each vessel. Fleet licensing arrangements may be available — please contact us to discuss your requirements.

3.3 What You Are NOT Permitted to Do

  • Redistribute the original or modified template files to any third party, whether for free or for payment
  • Resell or sublicence the templates, whether in original or modified form
  • Use on multiple vessels without purchasing the appropriate number of licences
  • Remove copyright notices or authorship attribution from any template file
  • Create derivative products based on NavioDocs templates for commercial sale or distribution

4. Vessel-Specific Customisation Requirement

Important: NavioDocs templates are starting points, not finished documents. Before using any template as an operational document aboard your vessel, you must:

  • Insert all vessel-specific details (name, IMO number, flag state, dimensions, equipment, crew details, etc.)
  • Review and adapt all procedures and checklists to reflect your vessel's actual systems and equipment
  • Remove or replace any placeholder text or sample content
  • Have the completed document reviewed and signed off by the appropriate responsible officer(s)

5. Flag State and Regulatory Approval

Customer's Responsibility

Obtaining flag state approval, class approval, or any other regulatory acceptance of completed and customised documentation is entirely the customer's responsibility. NavioDocs templates are designed to align with common flag state and international regulatory requirements, but we make no guarantee that any specific flag state, classification society, or port state control authority will accept any completed document without modification.

Regulatory requirements evolve. The customer is responsible for ensuring that any documentation complies with the regulations in force at the time of use. NavioDocs publishes the last-updated date for each template, but this does not guarantee ongoing compliance following regulatory changes.

6. Limitation of Liability

NavioDocs templates are provided as reference tools to assist with documentation. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

  • NavioDocs provides templates on an "as is" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied
  • NavioDocs shall not be liable for any failure of a template to satisfy the requirements of any particular flag state, classification society, or regulatory authority
  • NavioDocs shall not be liable for any incident, accident, injury, loss, damage, fine, or enforcement action arising from the use or misuse of any template, including uncustomised templates used as operational documents
  • In no event shall NavioDocs's total liability to you for all claims arising out of or related to these terms or your use of our products exceed the amount you paid for the specific product giving rise to the claim

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

7. Intellectual Property

All NavioDocs templates, content, and associated materials are protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights owned by NavioDocs. The licence granted under Section 3 does not transfer ownership of any intellectual property to you.

The NavioDocs name, logo, and all related marks are trademarks of NavioDocs. You may not use our trademarks without our prior written consent.

8. Governing Law and Disputes

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. In the event of a dispute, we encourage you to contact us first at hello@superyachtdocs.com so we can attempt to resolve the matter informally.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights under the laws of your country of residence.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Your continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.
